“Wike demanded 25% of Rivers state allocation. Sim Fubara even offered to give him 10%. 10% of Rivers money!” — Chetam Nwata claim.

Lawyer Chetam Nwata.

Chet Nwata, a lawyer and activist, has asserted that there is an ongoing dispute between the former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, and his successor, Sim Fubara, concerning the allocation of the state’s resources.

Nwata, during an interview on Arise TV, contended that Wike had reportedly requested a 25% share of Rivers state’s allocation, while Governor Sim supposedly proposed offering 10% to his predecessor, which was purportedly declined.

He asserted that Governor Sim is resisting because it is a common human response to push back when faced with oppression.

Nwata additionally contended that Wike assumed control of Rivers state following Governor Sim’s election. He claimed that the Minister of FCT appointed the majority of the Commissioners and also designated Sim’s Chief Security Officer.
