Mercy Isoyip, also known as Descushiel, a multi-talented artist encompassing acting, rapping, and singing, has publicly apologized to both the general audience and the law enforcement community for her lyrical misstep during the national anthem performance on national television.
During a conference and retreat for senior police officers held in Owerri, the capital of Imo state, on Monday, Descushiel, attired in a police uniform exclusively for the event, garnered widespread attention by unintentionally altering the lyrics of the national anthem.
In a video capturing her performance, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state and other attendees in the hall appeared visibly surprised.
This video has since circulated widely across various social media platforms.
“I sincerely apologize for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable.
