Suspected bandits have taken the life of Malam Usman Sarki, the village head of Zazzaga in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.
An undisclosed community representative informed the News Agency of Nigeria that the attack on Zazzaga and neighboring villages by the bandits occurred during the night of Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The source further revealed that a number of farmers, including women, were abducted during the incident.
On Tuesday night, a harrowing assault unfolded in Zazzaga, resulting in the tragic shooting death of the village head, Malam Usman Sarki, and the abduction of numerous individuals,” the source revealed.
“As of now, we are unable to provide an exact count of those taken captive, and the marauders also made off with a significant number of our livestock, including cattle, goats, and sheep.”
DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the State Police Command’s spokesperson, has confirmed the incident. However, he mentioned that he is still awaiting comprehensive details about the reported attack.
