The Lagos police have brought charges against a woman who was captured on camera assaulting a police officer.

The Lagos State Police Command has formally charged Omorogbe Jennifer Soni, a 26-year-old woman, with serious assault following her recorded altercation with a police officer in Ajah on February 21, 2024.

During the incident, Omorogbe engaged in a heated argument with the officer and subsequently pushed her, causing her to fall.

According to a statement by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, Omorogbe was arraigned the next day, February 22, 2024, at the Etiosa Magistrate Court in Ajah.

She has been remanded to the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until the next hearing scheduled for March 27, 2024.

Hundeyin further emphasized the importance of adhering to the law in daily interactions, cautioning that individuals found guilty of breaking the law would face appropriate consequences
