Lagos State has declared a complete 24-hour closure of the Third Mainland Bridge.

The Federal Ministry of Works has scheduled a 24-hour total closure of the Third Mainland Bridge from Wednesday, February 28, until 12 noon on Thursday, February 29.

This closure aims to facilitate the execution of a crucial phase of the ongoing repair works on the bridge.

The announcement of the closure was made in a statement issued by Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi.

The commissioner advised all road users to utilize alternative routes that have been provided during this period, as the bridge will remain inaccessible to traffic for the entire 24-hour duration.

Osiyemi reassured road users that traffic management officials would be present to oversee traffic flow and mitigate any inconveniences.

Repair works have been underway on the bridge since January, involving periodic partial closures for both inbound and outbound traffic.
