President Bola Tinubu emphasized the need to classify individuals engaged in reprehensible acts such as kidnapping as terrorists.
He made this statement during a Ramadan dinner with members of the federal judiciary, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola.
President Tinubu reiterated the government’s commitment to combating banditry, asserting that those resorting to kidnapping children are cowards who lack the courage to confront the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“We must treat kidnappers as terrorists,” he declared. “They are cowardly individuals who have been degraded. They target soft targets, such as schools, to kidnap children and sow discord.
To eradicate this menace, we must treat them as terrorists. I assure you, we will eliminate them.”
