Paul Pogba, the former midfielder for Manchester United, reportedly faces a four-year football ban following a failed drugs test last August.

The 30-year-old allegedly tested positive for testosterone after Juventus’s match against Udinese at the start of the season, resulting in a severe penalty from an Italian anti-doping prosecutor’s office, as reported by La Repubblica.

Despite Pogba’s legal team rejecting a plea deal and asserting that the substance was ingested accidentally, the prosecution remained unconvinced, leading to the significant ban that could potentially end his career.

With Pogba approaching his 31st birthday next month, he will be sidelined until he’s nearly 35 years old.

Once regarded as the world’s most expensive footballer, Pogba returned to Old Trafford in 2016 after a successful spell at Juventus, commanding a record-breaking £89 million fee.

Despite winning the World Cup with France in 2018, Pogba has struggled to replicate his earlier successes while at United.

In 2022, he departed the 13-time Premier League champions for the second time on a free transfer, opting to return to Juventus in a bid to revive his career.
