Man Sent To Court For Stealing Fufu, Pot Of Soup and other food items

A 20-year-old individual, known as Ojo Monday, stood before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State, facing charges of burglary and theft.

According to Inspector Moyosola Adesola, the accused allegedly took various items including noodles, maggi seasonings, salt, onions, “fufu,” and a pot of soup, valued at N300,000 and belonging to the complainant.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, around 12 noon, in Falegan, Ilawe Road, Ado-Ekiti, as reported by Daily Trust.

Despite the allegations, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

Inspector Adesola highlighted that the accused violated Sections 322 and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Representing the defendant, Olayinka Opaleke, requested bail from the court.

In response, Chief Magistrate Mrs. Taiwo Ajibade granted bail to the defendant in the amount of N50,000, along with one surety of equal value. The case was adjourned until April 23 for further proceedings.
