Journalist hit by stray bullet at Kano Government House.

Abubakar Rimi Television correspondent Naziru Idris Ya’u narrowly escaped death on Friday evening when a stray bullet struck him at Kano State Government House.

The source of the bullet remains unknown, with both security agents and Government House officials silent on the matter. Nazir Ya’u received prompt medical attention at the Government House clinic, where he was fortunate that the bullet did not cause severe damage.

Police attached to the Government House have launched an investigation into the incident, but as of now, neither the Kano Government House nor the State Police Command has issued an official statement.

Efforts to contact the Director General, Media and Publicity, Sanusi Tofa, were unsuccessful, while the Kano State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Abdullahi, stated that the incident had not been reported to the command.
