JAMB to arrest parents caught at UTME centers.

Security operatives have been instructed to collaborate with Computer Based Test Centre proprietors to apprehend intrusive parents approaching their facilities during the 2024 UTME session.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this directive during a briefing session with CBT owners, citing the imperative need due to the meddling behavior of certain parents observed in previous exercises.

Oloyede emphasized that parents disregarding the directive would not only face arrest but also lead to their children’s disqualification from the examination.

He further explained, “This measure is crucial as it has been noted that many of these intrusive parents are involved in examination malpractice, while others have disrupted the Board’s exams in the past.

Some individuals even disguise themselves as parents to infiltrate the centers and commit various infractions.”

He continued, “Hence, it’s evident that these parents haven’t ensured their children attend classes as required, prompting their attempt to compromise examination officials by accompanying them to the exam venue.

Moreover, it’s evident that these parents have ‘smuggled’ underage children into the examination roster.” Oloyede advised against patronizing fraudulent websites, warning candidates that if their details are found on such sites, they would be considered accomplices and face prosecution.
