The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, dismissed media speculations of a potential defection amid the party’s leadership crisis, affirming his commitment to the party.
Despite suggestions from Nigeria Labour Congress spokesman Benson Upah that Obi was free to leave, Obi reiterated his dedication to peace and denied rumors of joining the Social Democratic Party to pursue his presidential aspirations during an interaction with journalists in Gombe State.
Additionally, he emphasized his focus on Nigeria’s current challenges and the need for a better society, expressing concerns over increased electricity tariffs and advocating for solutions that prioritize the welfare of all citizens.
