Two students from Audu Bako College Of Agriculture, near Danbatta, are feared dead after their canoe capsized in Thomas Dam, Makoda Local Government Area of Kano State.
Abubakar Salisu was rescued, but the search for the other student, Ado Salisu, continues. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, as the students were returning to the college. The driver of the canoe, Hassan Haruna, survived.
Abubakar Sanusi’s body was found during the rescue operation. Rescue efforts will resume. A resident, Abba Muhammad, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the rescued student is receiving treatment at Danbatta General Hospital.
The dam is about five kilometers from the school. Aliyu Hamisu Dambatta’s post confirmed the death of two students in the accident.
