Babcock University professor killed, two abducted by gunmen at Ogun event.

Gunmen in black attire, reportedly eight in number, attacked the Ajadeh Event Centre in Iperu town, Ogun State, around 9:20 pm last Friday, April 19, 2024. Tragically, Dr.

Olowojobi Yinka, a professor of law at Babcock University, was killed for resisting abduction.

Two others, including a car dealer known as Dare, were abducted.

SP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement, detailing the ruthless attack.

Eyewitnesses recounted how the gunmen opened fire indiscriminately, fatally shooting Dr. Olowojobi Yinka.

One of the suspects, Awada Ishaya, a recent security hire at the event center, was arrested for further interrogation.

Despite efforts to save him, Dr. Olowojobi Yinka was pronounced dead at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

The police are actively pursuing the perpetrators and working to secure the release of the abducted victims. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
