A 25-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed by a friend in Bauchi


Khalid, a 25-year-old man from Magama-Gumau in Toro LGA of Bauchi State, was fatally stabbed during a confrontation with his friend on Tuesday, March 26.

Eyewitnesses reported a heated argument among a group of young men, including Khalid, as they headed towards a JIBWIS Mosque to break their fast at the end of Ramadan.

The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, during which Khalid was unexpectedly attacked with a sharp object, resulting in a fatal neck injury.

Despite efforts to rush him to a nearby private hospital, Khalid succumbed to his wounds before receiving medical attention.

Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident, stating that the assailant, Usman Ibrahim, 18 years old, used a knife in the altercation.

The Commissioner of Police promptly directed the DPO, Toro Division, to respond to the scene. Despite efforts to transport Khalid to General Hospital, Toro, for treatment, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body was subsequently released to his family for Islamic burial rites.
