Suleiman Ozakwo, a teacher from Anguwar Baiyi in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, mourned the loss of his three daughters after they were crushed to death by a drunk driver named Ya Zakari.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday, April 12, 2024, along Rafin Kunama, Abaji road in Toto. The sisters, Nusaiba, Maryam, and Rumaisa, were walking back from visiting their uncle’s wife near the Ohinoyi’s palace when the speeding vehicle struck them on the roadside.
Saidu Alhassan, a family member, recounted the event, stating that the suspect was apprehended by the police but later faced retaliation from a mob who set his vehicle ablaze.
Suleiman Ozakwo expressed grief over the untimely loss of his daughters, urging prayers for their departed souls.
An anonymous police officer confirmed the suspect’s arrest, mentioning that he would be arraigned in court on Monday, April 15, as he was found to be driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
