Three individuals have been arrested in Lagos for kidnapping a 10-year-old boy.

Police in Lagos State have arrested three individuals, including a private driver named Kwasi Samuel, for the abduction of a 10-year-old boy. The victim, rescued by police, is the son of Samuel’s employers.

The suspects, identified as Unachukwu Monday and Freeman Ekpebo, were apprehended in the Ijanikin area of Lagos State by operatives of the Zone 2 Zonal Monitoring Unit (ZMU).

According to Zone 2 police command spokesperson Umma Ayuba, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira before releasing the boy.

Acting on intelligence, police led by CSP Tijjani Taofiq raided the kidnappers’ hideout in the Ayetoro area of Ijanikin, rescuing the victims and arresting one suspect.

Subsequently, Samuel and Ekpebo were apprehended at Sun Era Hotel, Ijanikin, allegedly waiting to receive the ransom.

Samuel confessed to the crime, admitting to disabling the car’s tracking device before the operation.

The tracking device and a knife were recovered from the hotel room.

AIG Durosinmi commended the police and community for their cooperation and urged caution when employing domestic staff.
