During a Conference of Commissioners of State Ministries of Women Affairs in Abuja on Wednesday, February 28, the Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, urged women to refrain from confrontations with their husbands to prevent potential physical violence.

She emphasized that avoiding verbal exchanges could mitigate the risk of injury or even death resulting from such conflicts.

The Minister urged women to prioritize peace in their homes, emphasizing that maintaining tranquility is largely within their control and contributes significantly to household harmony.

She advised women to refrain from engaging in verbal confrontations with their spouses, as such actions could escalate into violence and have detrimental effects on both individuals and society.

Instead, she advocated for keeping calm and maintaining silence during tense situations, highlighting that this approach does not signify weakness but rather wisdom.

Additionally, the Minister stressed the importance of addressing gender and sexual-based offenses through legal means, proposing the establishment of a mobile court for swift justice.
