The EFCC has issued a declaration seeking the whereabouts of Emefiele’s wife along with three other individuals.

President Bola Tinubu removed Emefiele from his position as the CBN governor, and Emefiele is presently facing prosecution for multiple alleged financial crimes.

The EFCC has declared Mrs. Emefiele, Eric Odoh, Anita Omoile, and Jonathan Omoile wanted for allegedly conspiring with the former CBN governor to convert substantial sums of money belonging to the federal government.

They are accused of committing felony, specifically obtaining money by false pretenses and stealing, which are punishable under Sections 411, 287, and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

In a mugshot released by the anti-graft agency on Friday night, details of their offenses were listed, and the EFCC appealed to anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact its nearest command or the nearest police station.

Margaret, Anita, and Jonathan were identified as indigenes of Delta State, while Odoh hails from Benue State.

According to the EFCC, Jonathan is the Chief Executive Officer of Exact Quote BDC Limited, Anita is the CEO of Deepblue Energy Services Ltd, and Lipam Investment Services Ltd.

Following his removal from office as the CBN governor by President Bola Tinubu, Emefiele was subsequently arrested by the Department for State Services and is presently facing prosecution by the Federal Government on charges related to financial crimes.

On January 18, the Federal Government amended the criminal charges against him, expanding them from six counts to 20 counts.

The amendment included charges such as alleged criminal breach of trust, forgery, conspiracy to commit forgery, procurement fraud, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Emefiele had initially pleaded not guilty to the original six-count charge during his arraignment on November 18, 2023.

On November 22, 2023, a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court granted him bail in the amount of N300 million.
