Mubarak, an 18-year-old boy, was taken into custody on suspicion of killing Mrs. Sidikat Anuoluwapo, the boss of his mother, over a N80,000 cell phone.
One of Mrs. Sidikat’s granddaughters, who had just returned from school, discovered her dead body last week inside her room in a pool of her own blood.
According to The report, police in Ikare Akoko arrested the suspect after conducting an investigation, and the victim’s cell phone was discovered on him.
Mubarak also revealed another suspect, Reliwan, 20, as his partner, and they took police detectives to the crime scene, the Similoluwa area of Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko, where they demonstrated how they scaled the fence and attacked the victim.
Mubarak is the victim’s housekeeper and cleaner’s son. According to witnesses, he used to accompany his mother to work at the house.
Oluwasuen, his mother, was said to have been arrested.
“The two suspects revealed that they scaled the fence rather than going through the main gate in the afternoon,” a police source said.
“Having gained entry, they went straight that afternoon to the deceased room where she lying on her bed after taking her bath. They confessed that they use wooden box to shatter her head while the second suspect strangulated her.
“The mother of one of the suspects is a casual house keeper and cleaner for the late Mrs Adamolekun. At times, she would come to work with the suspect.”
The case has been transferred to Akure police headquarters.
