Axl Rose, the frontman of the band Guns N’ Roses, and American actor Jamie Foxx were both charged with sexual assault on Wednesday as part of a wave of lawsuits that were filed in New York prior to the statute of limitations deadline.

Actress and model Sheila Kennedy claims in her complaint against Rose that in 1989, he “sexually assaulted her” and that she “did not consent and felt overpowered.”

At a rooftop bar in Manhattan in 2015, the unnamed alleged victim in the Foxx case claimed that Foxx had “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch” her by groping her breasts and genitalia.

Both documents state that they are being filed under the New York Adult Survivors Act, a statute that allowed sexual assault lawsuits to be filed in cases where the incident occurred too long ago to be prosecuted.

The lead singer of the heavy rock group, which is 61 years old and known for albums like “Appetite for Destruction,” has not yet made a public statement.

Before the complaint was filed with a New York court, he had spent the previous weekend at the Formula One Grand Prix in Las Vegas.

The two allegedly met in a nightclub, and the incident took place in a hotel room in New York.

Rose, whose true name is William Bruce Rose, is supposed to go through a jury trial in the civil case, and the jury is supposed to give Kennedy “punitive damages.”

Rose is accused of forcing Kennedy to have anal intercourse in the complaint. She “thought Rose would physically attack her, or worse if she said no or attempted to push him away,” according to Kennedy’s attorneys.

The complaint alleges that Rose utilised his celebrity and status in the music industry, along with his power, to manipulate, control, and violently assault Kennedy.

The greatest-known songs by Guns N’ Roses are “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

In the Foxx case, his accuser claims that after meeting her at the bar, the 55-year-old Oscar winner took her by the “arm and pulled her to the back area of the rooftop.”

He is said to have followed the plaintiff there and made advances towards her until a friend arrived to look for her.

Additionally, she demands that Foxx—real name: Eric Marlon Bishop—be put on trial by a jury with the possibility of receiving punitive damages.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff’s injuries and emotional distress from the sexual assault, abuse, assault, and battery “will permanently be affected.”

Along with her roles as a comedian and Grammy-winning vocalist, Foxx was awarded an Academy Award in 2005 for her portrayal of Ray Charles in the musical biopic “Ray.” In the same year, he received an Oscar nomination for “Collateral.”
