Pope Francis welcomes 120 Transgender women at the Vatican to Commemorate the Catholic.

On Sunday, November 19, the gathering occurred in Vatican City. Pope Francis played host to 1,200 individuals struggling with poverty and homelessness, including approximately 120 transgender women from Torvaianica, situated south of Rome.

Among them, a significant number were Latin American migrants who had previously worked as prostitutes.

‘This is a fantastic opportunity for us transexuals,’ said Claudia Victoria Salas, 55, a transgender tailor and cleaner originally from Argentina who was seated opposite Francis. ‘I send the Pope a big kiss!’

Another attendee named Jessica Quintero added, “It’s beautiful for us trans [women] because we are forgotten.

“It’s a great pleasure, and a moral boost for us because people often forget about us.”

This marks the most recent demonstration of Pope Francis expressing his backing for the LGBTQ+ community.

Confirmed earlier this month was the allowance for transgender individuals to serve as godparents, act as witnesses at religious weddings, and undergo baptisms.
