The spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that officers captured in a viral video picking money at Benin airport will not face dismissal.
He provided this clarification on Friday in response to concerns raised by Nigerians who feared the officers might lose their jobs after a video showed them collecting money thrown into the air by singer Shallopopi at the Benin Airport.
Adejobi highlighted that although the officers might be counseled to avoid such behavior, it would not result in dismissal, as the offense is considered less severe.
Reacting to the video on Instagram, Adejobi said, ‘’We won’t dismiss a policemen for picking such money, we can only lecture him not to do so again, as such relegates him.”
