NiDCOM Chief Holds Meeting with Nigerian Nurses in the UK.

The leader of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, encouraged Nigerian nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom to support their home country.

She shared this message during an event hosted by the Nigerian Nurses Charitable Association, United Kingdom, where she was a special guest. The statement was posted on the commission’s official handle on Monday.

The statement read, “At the event, themed ‘Leading the Future Influencing Global Health,’ she called for a structured MOU on migration of health workers between the governments of Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

“Speaking at the event, the NiDCOM Chairman commended the nurses and midwives for their charitable deeds and urged them to continue to give back to their motherland

. “She expressed optimism that Nigerian healthcare practitioners in the diaspora, working with their counterparts in Nigeria can make Nigeria a tourist destination rather than the other way round.

“She added that the Tinubu administration is committed to improving healthcare facilities and practice in Nigeria and called for more collaboration by establishing partnerships for knowledge exchange, telemedicine initiatives, and skills transfer programs.”

The statement also mentioned that Wendy Olayiwola, the president of the association, expressed their commitment to sharing their expertise by collaborating with medical institutions in Nigeria.

Olayiwola emphasized the importance of establishing additional platforms for networking and communication to promote a collaborative environment for sharing insights and best practices.
