Ralph Uwazuruike, the Leader of MASSOB, Alleges President Tinubu’s Intentional Role in Withholding Nnamdi Kanu’s Release.

The Herald notes that in the ruling authored by Justice Garba Lawal but delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the Supreme Court reversed the decision of the Appeal Court that acquitted Nnamdi Kanu of all terrorism charges in October 2022.

The Supreme Court asserted that even though the Nigerian government unlawfully transported Kanu from Kenya, such misconduct did not prevent any court from continuing with the trial.

Justice Lawal emphasized that the lawsuit seeking Kanu’s release based on the unlawful abduction from Kenya did not reference any Nigerian law.

The judge mentioned that the appropriate recourse for such an action is for Nnamdi Kanu to pursue a civil matter against the act, rather than nullifying the authority of courts to proceed with his trial on alleged criminal charges.

Consequently, the highest court instructed Nnamdi Kanu to present a defense for the remaining seven counts of terrorism charges against him in the Federal High Court.

In response to the recent development, Ralph Uwazuruike conveyed his views in a video shared on Emeka Gift Official X handle.

He asserted that the Supreme Court’s ultimate decision to keep Nnamdi Kanu in detention is influenced by Tinubu. Uwazuruike highlighted the release of Igboho, who advocates for Oduduwa freedom, and suggested that Kanu’s continued incarceration is due to his Igbo identity.
