The 43-year-old singer shared this unexpected news via his social media channels on Wednesday evening.

Westlife, comprised of Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Mark, had been gearing up for their inaugural US tour, set to commence in a few days.

Mark shared that after being discharged from the hospital in December 2020, he has experienced ongoing medical issues.

He recounted becoming severely ill in Newcastle before a concert in late 2021, resulting in a diagnosis of pneumonia and his subsequent return to the emergency room.

Following this, he was advised to return home for recovery, missing the remainder of the concerts that December.

Further complications arose, leading to more surgery in May 2022, causing him to miss additional tour dates.

Despite attempting to continue touring three months after this surgery, Mark found the physical demands and extensive travel too strenuous, leading to the discovery of a large ‘incisional hernia’ necessitating yet another surgery.

Although this surgery was successful, Mark emphasized the need to prioritize his recovery.

He expressed deep regret as he announced his temporary withdrawal from all Westlife touring until he has fully recuperated, thanking fans for their unwavering support and understanding throughout his health struggles in recent years.

Continuing, Mark expressed gratitude towards his loved ones and the medical team for their unwavering support.

Addressing Shane, Kian, and Nicky, he conveyed his affection, expressing confidence in their ability to excel in their performances while he takes a step back to focus on his health.

Mark assured them that he will be spiritually present for every show as they proudly represent Westlife globally.

Acknowledging his current circumstances, Mark admitted that he must prioritize his health, well-being, family, and personal needs.

He reassured fans not to worry, sending them positive energy and promising a swift return. Mark signed off with an expression of enduring love and loyalty to Westlife.

Throughout their formation in 1998, Feehily, alongside bandmates Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Brian McFadden, and Nicky Byrne, achieved immense commercial success across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and mainland Europe.
