Lagos State has issued a warning to supermarkets, threatening to seal those that do not display price tags on their products.

The Lagos State Government has issued a stern warning to supermarkets and grocery stores across the state, mandating the display of price tags on all products. Failure to comply may result in the sealing of non-compliant establishments, as emphasized by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) on Saturday, April 6.

This measure aims to enhance transparency and protect consumers from potential price exploitation, ensuring a straightforward and consumer-friendly shopping experience.

Mr. Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager of LASCOPA, highlighted that the absence of price tags infringes upon consumer rights and violates the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency Law, emphasizing the importance of informed purchasing decisions.

Consumers are urged to report violations to LASCOPA via phone lines provided, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding consumer rights.
