Linda Ihebinike was apprehended by authorities on suspicion of attempting to conduct a transaction using counterfeit Naira notes.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, revealed that the vigilant operator of a point-of-sale (POS) system detected the counterfeit currency and alerted the authorities.
“Following an attempt by Linda Ihebinike to transact with counterfeit N1000 notes amounting to N90,000, the POS operator promptly raised concerns.
Our investigation into the matter is currently underway,” stated SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
