Israel-Hamas Conflict: British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili calls off performance due to personal threats related to the situation in Israel.

Omid Djalili, a 58-year-old British-Iranian comedian, has had to cancel his performance after reportedly facing ‘personal threats concerning the situation in Israel.’

His show, “Omid Djalili and Friends,” which was scheduled to take place in Market Drayton, Shropshire yesterday, will be refunded to ticket holders next week.

Jodie Rudd, who manages the Festival Drayton Centre, informed the Shropshire Star, “In light of security threats directed at Omid Djalili, we regrettably had to cancel this evening’s performance. Our team is diligently reaching out to all patrons.”

According to a spokesperson for West Mercia Police, as reported by The Times, no official reports regarding the alleged threats have been received.

On October 18, he turned to X, previously recognized as Twitter, and posted: ‘The conflict has gone into utterly unprecedented territory. The ONLY action we have now – as humanity – is to call for an immediate ceasefire.

‘There literally is no other thing to do or say at this point. Any speculation on this ‘report’ or that ‘report’ on who is to blame makes no difference other than fuel a fire that is soon going to envelop the whole world.

‘This is the assessment of everyone who has been following the #IsraelPalestineConflict as long as we’ve been alive.’
