Husband kills wife and her pet and tears the wife’s remnants to 200 pieces

Nicholas Metson, aged 28, brutally murdered his 26-year-old wife, Holly Bramley, by stabbing her at least four times in March 2023.

Following the heinous act, he proceeded to dismember her body into more than 200 pieces, storing them in the kitchen larder of their shared flat in Shuttlesworth, Lincoln, UK. When authorities were called to investigate her disappearance, Metson callously joked that she might be hiding under the bed. Later, he offered his school friend Joshua Hancock £50 to assist with a task, which was later revealed to involve dumping Ms. Bramley’s remains in the River Witham in Bassingham.

It wasn’t the first time Metson displayed such cruelty. Reports indicate he had previously subjected their pets to brutal treatment in a misguided attempt to “punish” his wife. According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, Metson once placed their new dog inside a washing machine, leaving his wife to discover the deceased animal still inside as the drum spun. Additionally, he allegedly killed her hamsters by placing them in a food blender and microwave.

Annette, Ms. Bramley’s mother, described Metson as an “evil monster,” lamenting the loss of her daughter, whom she described as beautiful, kind, and loving. She expressed the anguish of knowing that Ms. Bramley’s final moments were filled with pain at the hands of someone devoid of regard for human life. Metson’s actions not only robbed them of their daughter but also denied them the opportunity to see her in her final moments and after her death.

The court learned that Metson and Ms. Bramley had been married for only 16 months before the tragic incident and were on the brink of separation. Initially, Metson claimed that his wife had left their home on March 19 with two members of a local mental health crisis team. However, suspicious circumstances arose when police discovered a strong smell of bleach and ammonia in the flat, along with a saw, bloodstained sheets, and a significant bloodstain on the bedroom floor.

Metson initially denied any involvement in his wife’s death but later changed his plea to guilty on February 23. He had already admitted to conspiring to pervert the course of justice by disposing of Ms. Bramley’s body. As a result, he now faces the possibility of life imprisonment.
