Fubara warns political rivals that if they perceive the implementation of the presidential peace pact as a display of weakness, they will be surprised by his response.”

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has cautioned his political adversaries against misinterpreting his signing of the presidential peace pact as a sign of weakness.

He delivered this message during a meeting with members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) from all 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers, who paid a solidarity visit to the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, April 3.

Governor Fubara explained that despite receiving numerous comments regarding the peace initiative, he chose to maintain silence out of maturity and wisdom.

He also disclosed that the resolution accepted during the intervention by the President in the state’s political crisis in 2023 was a political solution, not a constitutional implementation.

Asserting his respect for the President, Governor Fubara emphasized his commitment to implementing the agreed resolution.

However, he made it clear that if his actions are perceived as a sign of weakness, he would respond assertively. He urged his rivals to take heed of this message.

Reflecting on recent criticisms, Governor Fubara highlighted the genuine impact of his administration’s policies on the lives of the people.

He emphasized the importance of governance focused on improving lives without any ulterior motives.

In a rallying call, Governor Fubara assured unwavering support for those who uphold righteousness, declaring that no form of intimidation would deter them.

He warned of a firm response if provoked, indicating a stance of determination and readiness for any challenges that may arise in Rivers State.
