During a book launch in Lagos state on Thursday, February 8, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, emphasized that social media has evolved into a societal menace and emphasized the necessity for its regulation.

This statement was conveyed according to a release by Tunde Alao, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Media), Office of the Lagos State Deputy Governor. He said;

“Social media has evolved into a societal menace that requires regulation,” stated Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

He emphasized the widespread reach of social media, highlighting the potential for immense harm to both society and individuals due to the lack of understanding regarding the impact of information dissemination.
