Father of Late Singer Mohbad Expresses Distrust in Son’s Wife during Coroner’s Court Testimony.

Late Mohbad and His Father Joseph Aloba

On Wednesday, October 25, Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, informed a coroner’s court in Lagos that he lacks confidence in his late son’s wife, Wunmi.

According to The Nation’s report on his testimony during the coroner’s inquest into his son’s death, Mr. Aloba informed Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, the Coroner, that he and his son resided together for 18 years.

He stated that late Mohbad moved out when he reached adulthood to live with Marley, the head of the Marlian record label, as he pursued his music career.

He also mentioned that he was unaware of the precise location of the house where his late son lived with Naira Marley.

He stated that his late son’s real estate assets were under the care of his mother-in-law, and his son frequently mentioned his belongings being held by his wife and her family. He alleged that Mohbad’s wife occasionally mixed sleeping pills into his meals and had a romantic involvement with another artist under the same label.

Mohbad’s father said, “I shared 18 years together with my son, and he had no record of any terminal disease. I only took him to a chemist when he was 16 for treatment of rashes. I don’t trust his wife. My son told me she always put sleeping pills in his noodles and went to another room to sleep with another signee in the same house. Mobhad made efforts to reconcile me with his mother.”

He also informed the coroner that after reconciling with his mother, Mohbad purchased a car for him.
