Unidentified assailants have allegedly taken the lives of four individuals, including security operatives, in the Aguluzigbo community within the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to reports, the yet-to-be-identified hoodlums launched an invasion of the community on Tuesday morning, initiating gunfire.
This act resulted in an intense exchange of gunfire between the assailants and security forces in the vicinity.
Sources indicate that the gun battle, which commenced in the morning, persisted for several hours, creating a state of panic in the area.
Videos from the scene further substantiated the incident, and these are presently gaining traction on social media.
Upon reaching out for comments on the situation, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, affirmed the occurrence but mentioned that comprehensive details were still limited.
Ikenga stated, “Yes. There was a shooting incident between some gunmen and security operatives at the Aguluzigbo community this morning.
“The information is still sketchy for now and any further details will be available when we get the true pictures of what happened. But our men are currently on top of the situation.”
