Ex-convict arrested in Ogun for allegedly stealing an air conditioner.


So-Safe operatives in Ogun State arrested Ezekiel Thankgod, a former convict, for allegedly stealing an air conditioner in the Ojuore area of Sango, Ogun State.

The Corps Commandant, Soji Ganzallo, announced this through a statement from the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, on Thursday, April 4th.

During a routine patrol on Wednesday, April 3rd, Ganzallo stated that Thankgod was apprehended by So-Safe operatives.

The suspect, residing in a nearby street, confessed to the theft and vandalism during questioning by the corps. Aged 24, Thankgod also admitted to being a recent releasee from a correctional facility.

Ganzallo revealed, “Thankgod, residing on Tokis Street, Behind Covenant Store, Ojuore, was caught vandalizing and stealing a Royal Air Conditioner (Model: R410 Outdoor) from Covenant Stores, Oju-Ore, in the Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.”


During the initial investigation led by ACC Samuel Yusuf, the Iyesi Area Commander of the Corps, it emerged that the apprehended suspect had previous arrests for similar offenses.

“He has a history of stealing money and phones and was released from a correctional center in January this year,” Yusuf stated.

“The suspect confessed to the crime and revealed that he resides anywhere, mentioning his association with Oloko Community in Ota.”

The So-Safe chief noted the recovery of exhibits such as charms, cowries, and a lighter from the suspect.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the suspect and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.
