Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has succumbed to a prolonged struggle with Leukemia. He reportedly passed away in Lagos on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the age of 67.
It is known that Akeredolu was under the care of State House doctors until his demise, as his condition prevented him from being flown abroad.
“Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,” the source said.
“They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”
Akeredolu came back to Nigeria amid controversy surrounding his prolonged medical stay in Germany. He went to his residence in Ibadan, causing additional political tension in his state, particularly with Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Following President Tinubu’s involvement, Akeredolu handed over authority to his deputy and took another medical leave.
