Bandits in Kaduna kills two hostages as they couldn’t meet the demanded N5 million ransom.

In Azzara village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits have killed two out of 13 abducted victims after they were unable to gather a N5 million ransom.

The incident occurred following a bandit attack on April 3, 2024, during which they killed community leader Mr. Philibus Andrew and kidnapped 13 others, including a nursing mother.

A resident of Azzara, Ibrahim Shehu, confirmed the recent development, stating that it occurred on Saturday after the bandit leader informed the relatives of three victims who had brought ransom money and food to the Rijana Forest.

According to Shehu, the bandit leader accepted N6 million and the food for the release of three victims, including the nursing mother, but disclosed to the relatives that two of the victims had been killed as they couldn’t raise the initial N5 million ransom.

Additionally, Shehu mentioned that the bandits threatened to kill the remaining captives if their families failed to pay the ransom within seven days.
