Army Unveils Upgraded Schools in Kano.

Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has shown newly fixed-up schools in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State. This is part of the Nigerian Army’s efforts to help the community, as mentioned in a statement and photos shared on the official Nigerian Army’s social media on Wednesday.

The upgraded Kundila Schools include Government Upper Basic Secondary School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, and Kundila Nursery and Primary School.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division NA and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, Major General Valentine Okoro, expressed appreciation to the people of Kano State for their ongoing support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies during security challenges.

The statement further read, “The COAS stated that the projects demonstrate the NA’s commitment to positively impact on communities as part of its non-kinetic line of operations.

“He added that the projects would significantly contribute to the educational needs of the indigenes and residents of Tarauni, and indeed the good people of Kano State.

“Speaking further, the COAS said more than 255 projects have been completed by the NA across the six geopolitical zones of the country while some are still ongoing in different locations in the country.

“He reaffirmed that the NA will continue to executive projects that are viable while appealing to the people to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance.

“He added that the renovation of the schools was executed with highly standadise and quality materials/ modern state of the earth equipment.

“The renovated projects consist of 24 classrooms, installation of 14 solar powered lights, provision of desks and seats, furnishing of the laboratory with modern equipment, reconstruction and furnishing of staff rooms, head teachers and principal offices, students toilets as well as replacement of roofs/ceilings/ blocks and sinking of boreholes amongst others.”

Expressing gratitude, Abubakar Zakari, the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area, thanked the Nigerian Army on behalf of the community for the meaningful and impactful projects.

He remarked that only God could adequately reward the Nigerian Army for this significant honor.
