The Anambra State Police responded to the confusion surrounding the burial of the Anam boat mishap victims near the riverside.
Three of the deceased were initially buried there, including actor Junior Pope and one other who remain in the morgue.
However, one victim’s family later decided to exhume the body for burial in her home state. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, stated that while two victims remain buried by the riverside, Junior Pope and one other are still in the morgue pending funeral arrangements.
Additionally, statements from the movie producer and the two boat drivers have been obtained, and further investigative actions have been initiated to determine any potential criminal liability in the mishap, as directed by the Commissioner of Police.
