Adanma Luke, renowned movie producer, finally speaks out about the tragic loss of her cast and crew (video).


Adanma Luke, the producer of the movie Jnr Pope and four others were working on before they tragically died in a boat mishap on April 10, has finally broken her silence.

In a heartfelt video posted on her Instagram page, Adanma revealed that she was supposed to be on the ill-fated boat herself. Captioning the video with poignant words, “Why me? Life Jacket was free,” she shared her harrowing experience and the pain she has been enduring since the incident.

Adanma expressed that she has not remained silent amidst the tragedy. Despite her own trauma, she has been actively involved in efforts to recover the bodies of the victims, providing support for their families and ensuring proper arrangements for their final journey home.

Reflecting on the heartbreaking events, Adanma expressed deep sorrow and a sense of responsibility, blaming herself for being present in Asaba instead of Lagos where she would have been safe. She recounted the moments leading up to the disaster, including her last interactions with the crew members who were awaiting Junior Pope’s arrival.

Filled with disbelief and anguish, Adanma recalled her encounter with Emeka, her Director of Photography, who broke the devastating news of the loss. Despite her initial confusion, she soon realized the gravity of the situation as Emeka revealed that their colleagues were submerged in the water.

Adanma admitted her desire to search for them herself but was restrained from doing so.

The video she shared captures the raw emotions and the profound impact of the tragedy on her and everyone involved.
