Emmanuel Okpara has been arrested by the Lagos State Police for allegedly beating his 40-year-old wife, Patience Johnson, to death.
According to police sources, the deceased’s son, Destiny, visited the Elere police division on March 26, reporting that his mother’s husband had severely beaten her, resulting in serious injuries.
Upon receiving the call from a neighbor, Destiny rushed to his mother’s aid and found her badly injured and vomiting blood, while Emmanuel was nowhere to be found. Destiny immediately took his mother to the Orile Agege General Hospital for treatment, where she sadly passed away around 6am on March 28.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to the Mainland General Hospital for autopsy.
Confirming the incident to LIB, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, stated that the suspect is currently in detention as investigations continue.
