A landlord in oyo, has been detained by the court for allegedly molesting his tenant’s 6-year-old daughter.

On Tuesday, March 26, a family court session held at Iyaganku, Ibadan, resulted in the remand of Musibau Lamidi, aged 50, for allegedly defiling his tenant’s six-year-old daughter.

Presiding over the case, Magistrate Mrs. S. A. Adesina directed the landlord’s detention at the Agodi custodial facility pending advice from the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The magistrate refrained from accepting the landlord’s plea.

The case was adjourned until April 25 for further proceedings.

Musibau, a resident of Olode, Ibadan, faces a single charge of defilement, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Earlier, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, the prosecutor, informed the court that on March 13, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the defendant, Musibau, committed the crime of defiling his tenant’s daughter.

Adedeji explained that Musibau had a dispute with the child’s mother, prompting him to instruct her to vacate the premises.

Subsequently, when the woman was searching for a new rental accommodation, Musibau allegedly assaulted her daughter.

Adedeji emphasized that this action violated Section 34 of the Oyo State Child Rights Law of 2006.
