After a series of strange killings in a community in Niger state, a burnt body was found hanging from a tree.

In Kudu village, located in the Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, a disturbing discovery sent shockwaves through the community.

Early on Monday morning, March 25, 2024, the lifeless body of an unidentified man was found hanging from a mango tree.

The grim scene unfolded opposite a shea butter-producing company along the Enagi-Kudu road.

According to information provided by a security source in the area to Daily Trust, the body had been burnt, adding a chilling layer of horror to the already tragic situation

The officer revealed that neither the identity of the victim nor the perpetrators had been determined at the time of reporting.

However, he disclosed to the publication a troubling pattern of violence perpetrated by an unidentified cult group in the area over the past four weeks. These perpetrators have been carrying out fatal attacks every Sunday night, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake.

“For the past four weeks, we’ve been witnessing a series of alarming killings in the area. Two individuals have lost their lives, while three others suffered severe injuries, rendering them unrecognizable. They are currently receiving treatment in Mokwa,” the police source detailed.

“These incidents occur consistently on Sunday nights, and we remain unaware of the identities of the perpetrators. Nevertheless, we’ve initiated a comprehensive manhunt to apprehend those responsible for these heinous acts.”

He further described the distressing scene encountered that morning: “Today, we were confronted with the grisly sight of a deceased individual hanging from a mango tree, his body charred from being set on fire. He was bound to the tree before being subjected to this horrifying fate.”
