Why the President’s Transcript Points to a Female Identity, Explained by Tinubu’s Lawyer.

President Ahmed Tinubu

Atiku received a credential from Chicago State University that denotes a female gender instead of a male one among Tinubu’s records.

Wole Afolabi, the lawyer representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has explained that the ‘F’ signifying female in Tinubu’s transcript was due to a confusion at Chicago State University.

Afolabi made this statement during his appearance on Channels Television on Friday, October 6, 2023, in response to Atiku Abubakar’s press briefing regarding the alleged fake certificate issue involving the President.

In his quest to uncover the truth about the accusations regarding Tinubu’s academic qualifications and enrollment at an American university, Atiku took legal action, bringing the President to a district court in the United States. He sought an injunction to compel the institution to release Tinubu’s academic records to his legal team.

When questioned about the discrepancy where one of Tinubu’s credentials indicated a female gender, Afolabi clarified that all other documents indicated male, except for the transcript provided by Southwest College.

“The transcript that was provided by Southwest College indicated F. It was clear. All of the other particulars did match information of President Bola Tinubu. Now, the registrar was interviewed on why the discrepancies. He said the person applying for the school ticked the box of a male not a female and when the admission letter was issued it was issued to Mr Tinubu.

He further said, “When the question was put to Dr West Brown, he said it is not unusual for universities to mix up. He (West Brown) has been to several universities. It is possible.”

Regarding the inconsistencies in the signatures on Tinubu’s certificates, Afolabi explained that the certificates were not issued upon graduation but only after an individual applied for them.

He clarified that the individual responsible for issuing the certificate submitted by Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) might not have been associated with the university back in 1979, which was the year of Tinubu’s graduation from the institution.
