Asari Dokubo has criticized Nigerians promoting the narrative that Lagos state belongs to the Binis. This comes in the wake of comments by the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, stating that the Binis founded certain areas of Lagos state.
The monarch’s statement triggered a debate, with individuals both supporting and challenging the assertion. Some argued that the Binis have rightful ownership of Lagos state in their submissions.
In an online video, Asari questioned the claim of ownership of Lagos by the Obas of Benin. He characterized those promoting the notion that Lagos belongs to the Binis as both intelligent and foolish individuals.
