Nigerian player Victor Osimhen won the Italian Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.

He earned this recognition after a successful season with Napoli, where he and his teammates received several awards on Monday evening for their achievements in the team’s first title-winning season in 33 years.

A video showing Osimhen getting the award was posted on the association’s X page on Monday night.

The footballer of the year award is a big deal and has gone to famous players like Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic before, according to Football Italia.

Osimhen won in 2023 because he scored 26 goals in 32 Serie A games, making a significant contribution.
