UK Authorities Detain Nigerian Woman for Falsely Accusing Husband of Assault to Secure Residency

Dele Olawanle, a Nigerian attorney, has recounted the incident in which UK law enforcement apprehended a Nigerian woman for unfoundedly alleging that her husband had subjected her to sexual assault and abuse for more than 12 years.

In a social media post on his handle, Olawanle, a lawyer residing in the UK, detailed how the married woman falsely incriminated her spouse shortly after he had relocated her and their children to the United Kingdom.

In her pursuit of gaining the independence to live without requiring her husband’s consent, she fabricated a rape accusation against him. According to Olawanle, a subsequent police investigation uncovered that the woman had been receiving text messages from individuals advising her on how to falsely implicate her husband in order to attain her freedom.
