It was a dramatic match on Wednesday evening as Tunisia defeated France 1-0 in the on-going 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Although the defending champions, France still finish top of Group D, a VAR check in stoppage time snatched a three-consecutive win from the reigning champions as Antonio Griezmann’s 98th minute equaliser was cancelled.
French-born Wahbi Khazri scored the only goal of the game for Tunisia in the 58th minute
It looked as though Tunisia would be denied their win in the final moments as Tunisia fans had their hearts racing, while some even shed tears that the defining moment had been snatched from them with Griezmann goal before the overturn by VAR that saw the stadium explode with screams from the fans and players alike
However, Tunisia even with the win still fail to qualify for the knockout stage and are out of the World Cup tournament, but they will cherish this moment and result as they jet back home.
