Tragic Ogun Auto Crash: One Fatality, Another Injured.

File: Auto Crash.

The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps reported a fatal incident at the Alagbon-Olorunda bridge along Owode-Idiroko Road in Ogun State.

According to Mr. Adekunle Ajibade, the South-West Area Commander of TRACE, the accident occurred due to the truck losing control, attributed to speeding.

The incident, which took place on Friday around 4:15 p.m., involved a Mercedes-Benz truck and a Bajaj motorcycle. Of the four individuals involved, one lost their life, another sustained injuries, while the remaining two emerged unharmed. Ajibade shared this information on Saturday in Ota.

Ajibade mentioned that the Mercedes-Benz truck, because of excessive speed, veered out of control and collided with a commercial motorcyclist, leading to it plunging into the river.

“The injured victim was taken to hospital before our arrival, while the dead one has been claimed by his relatives for the burial rites,” he said.

Ajibade urged motorists and motorcycle riders to exercise caution, avoid reckless driving, and reduce speed to prevent accidents, especially during the Yuletide season.
