Kaduna Village Bombed During Maulud Celebration.
Many people in a village are thought to have died, and others are hurt after a bomb fell on them while they were celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, called Maulud.
This happened around 9 pm on Sunday, December 3, in Tudun Biri, a village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna.
Some say the bomb came from a plane, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
Though we don’t know all the details yet, early reports say at least 30 people lost their lives during this sad event.
“They were celebrating Maulud (birth of Prophet Muhammad) when the jet dropped the bomb, resulting in the immediate death of more than 30 people,” a resident told the publication.
Concerns exist that the number of casualties could rise as those severely injured undergo medical treatment.
Samuel Aruwan, who oversees the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, did not give details about the number of casualties. He mentioned that the government plans to share this information in a press conference at the Government House.
“We will address the press at Government House on the situation because there would be a security meeting later. So, let’s meet by 10 am,” he said.
