A near tragedy was avoided as an aircraft carrying Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, crash-landed close to Ibadan Airport in Oyo State.

Initially, there were reports of the aircraft crashing, but subsequent findings revealed that it had crash-landed.

As of the current press time, specific details of the occurrence remained unclear.

However, it is known that the incident occurred on a Friday night. It remains uncertain whether the minister or other individuals on board sustained injuries during the event.

The incident happened following a travel advisory issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) due to hazy weather conditions.

Additionally, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had recommended that pilots and airline operators exercise caution as the dry season approached.

The aircraft involved was a chartered Flint Short Aero, an HS 125 with the registration number: 5N-AMM. According to a source, it initially made contact with the control tower at 18:56, seeking an extension, which was granted by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
